and Baptism

Learn why it’s important

Church Membership

The Bible explains “members” differently than secular culture. In 1 Corinthians 12:27–28: Paul says, “Now you are the body of Christ, and individual members of it. And God has placed these in the church.”

With church membership, everyone has a role or function. Some are eyes; others are ears. Some are feet; still, others are hands. That is why the Apostle Paul concludes: “For as the body is one and has many parts, and all the parts of that body, though many, are one body—so also is Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:12).

All Christians are called to be one in Christ and to seek opportunities for common witness and service.

How to become a member.

If you have not been baptized

One becomes a member by accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and being baptized (by immersion) into the body of Christ. If you are interested in taking those steps, please contact our Senior Pastor or Director of Youth and Family Ministry.

If you have been baptized

We ask you to reaffirm your faith in Jesus Christ. And above all, Jesus Christ is the son of the Living God, who offers saving grace to all who seek it through the Son.

Baptism

Baptism by Immersion.

In baptism, the self-centered life is set aside, washed away and new life of trust in God begins. Although Disciples practice baptism by immersion, other baptism traditions are honored.
